Last night I helped-out at Cline Observatory.  I staffed a Dobsonian telescope near the front door and greeted people as they arrived.  My object in the sky was the Moon and we had a great view last night.

One of the guests asked if he could take a picture of the Moon, got out his smart phone and aimed it thru the eyepiece of the telescope.  I was skeptical if any image would be good, but he came away with several nic shots.

So I took out my camera and did the same.  Many of the images ar washed out with too much light, but a few turned out nicely.

I also had two different people ask about Mars appearing as large as the full Moon in the sky later this month.  I explained a little of the history of the internet hoax.  One of those guests said he had heard it o a TV news program, he guessed it was MNBC.  I hope not.
